Never Again Rwanda Annual Report 2013
Year: 2013 | Publication: Never Again Rwanda
2013 was the culmination of exciting new growth. For Never Again Rwanda, 2013 was an important watershed as it is the year it expanded most of its projects regionally and internationally. Reaching this milestone provided a timely opportunity for reflection on, and critique of, much of our work.
Never Again Rwanda has established itself as a leading nongovernmental organization in shaping peace-building and advancing human rights. Civil society has a major role to play in promoting peace and overcoming violence. Never Again Rwanda has grown into a significant role player in this regard. I value its judgement of what to engage with, and how it goes about its work. It plays a valuable role in extending the scope of civil society and in the overall nation-building endeavor.
This Annual Report for 2013 provides compelling evidence of transformative change and its impact on the lives of the communities we reached out to across Rwanda. It captures Never Again Rwanda’s experiences and contributions of youth in building peace and advancing social inclusion. Their experiences bring home the message that youth are a powerful resource for peace and development, a necessary complement to high level political dialogue, often the first hand stretched out to people striving to rebuild their lives after conflict .
